Parents: This class blog is intended to showcase the student poems created after reading a poem written by Maya Angelou, titled "Life Doesn't Frighten Me." We have recently finished a unit of literature with the theme of "Tests of Courage."

Shadows on the wall
Noises down the hall
Life doesn't frighten me at all
Bad dogs barking loud
Big ghosts in a cloud
Life doesn't frighten me at all
Mean old Mother Goose
Lions on the loose
They don't frighten me at all
Dragons breathing flame
On my counterpane
That doesn't frighten me at all.
I go boo
Make them shoo
I make fun
Way they run
I won't cry
So they fly
I just smile
They go wild

Tough guys fight
All alone at night

Panthers in the park
Strangers in the dark
No, they don't frighten me at all.
That new classroom where
Boys all pull my hair

I am not keen
About ghosts and ghouls
Coming to my school
When you yell "BOO!"
I say "SHOO!"
I see scary clowns
Coming to my town
When I saw the candy that mummy gave
I realized I WAS BRAVE
Then on Christmas Eve
I gave grief
Thinking about an old, fat, red guy in my house
I'm even scared of a mouse!
Santa comes
I run
Santa lifts
The bag of gifts
I realize everything is dandy
As Santa gets out some candy
When I saw that he needs a shave
I WAS BRAVE
On St. Patty's Day
Everyone yells "YAY!"
I say "OH NO!"
"I gotta go!"
Leprechauns could be anywhere
Even in my hair!
Then I saw a green little man
Who's name was Dan
Then I knew that leprechauns wouldn't make me their slave

When I grow old
I feel like mold
These are my last days
I am done with my eye-opening maze

Is it jumping into a deep, dark pit?
Is it fighting a dragon with breath of flames?
Is it challenging a giant to a wrestling game?
Is it eating a melon with explosive seeds?
Is it turning a flamethrower on killer weeds?
Hey! All of these things I have done!
I think that they were pretty fun
So in my dying breath youll hear me call

If you have courage you should try things new like parachuting, flying a helicopter or scubadiving.
If I could do this then life doesnt frighten me at all.
You need to have a little courage to live or you would be too scared to step outside so since I have courage Im glad to be alive

It gets dark i see a shark I am right theres no light.I'll find something to hold if i am cold.Life doesn't frighten me at all.

If I were an arctic explorer in my sled I would have a very thick coat, a heated sleeping bag, extra shoes and socks, extra clothes, food& water, lipbalm, hairbrush, a pocket knife(just for hunting), a phone, lotion, a tent, compass, flashlight, and a smart dog, like a Huskey or a German Shepered, for company, safty, and guidance!
